Actually as someone who has naturally red hair, I can say that under certain lighting (most notably orange lighting) it can look a greenish brown.

Hahah this is still so, so funny.

It's also funny that you can tell who got into Death Note before the anime - they still tend to stick to the red and black and white scheme....which was arbitrary, but consistent.
