Description First chance i've had to do some proper macro photography of insects.

I know it's not perfect and there are way better insect shots out there but i think it derserves a place in my gallery. .

Taken with a Canon 60mm macro lens.
Shot in raw and processed in lightroom and photoshop.

No it's actually a little hover fly

I guess it was just over 1/2 an inch wide (including wingspan)

And yes i was very lucky

It's actually a little hover fly

I'm hoping to get more tbh, i hadn't intended shooting insects as it was so hot and they were really lively. I was just in the right place at the right time

Well my take on a macro shot. .

Why is it never enough in photography!? Now i have a macro lens at my disposal all i want is a set of extension tubes
