I have posted a deviation similar to this in the past but that was before i had access to a dedicated macro lens. It safe to say i wont be using my kit lens for shots like this anymore.
This is just a dandelion that i sprayed with some water and lit from behind with a LED torch. The torch has a blue tint which sometimes works in my favour

My camera can't take EF-S so I'll have to either get a 50mm or a 100mm macro.

Ok, in that case i would personally suggest the 100mm.
The 60mm i used in this lens was borrowed from a friend. I couldn't afford the 60mm at the time so i got the 50mm instead.
The 50mm works well with the smaller sensor cameras because of the 1.6x magnification ratio, but it all depends on how close you want to get!
I'll be upgrading to a full frame camera in january so i'm either going to get a set of extension tubes or get the 100mm. Or maybe both!

Unfortunately i didn't get any yet. . I have borrowed a canon 60mm from a friend (kinda a long term loan thing 
I'm thinking he's gonna want it back soon though.
I'll probably get the 100mm when i get my own, i just wanted to try one out for myself before i laid out the cash.
