I like the way the sun rays goes on each side of the tree, but I have never seen anything like that IRL... does it have anything to do with fog you think?

yes it has definitely to be foggy to see such rays,
mostly you find it in a morning which is colder than the day before but
I also have seen them in foggy evening ...
not that strong because of the darker winterlight but good to see.
had take the evening pics in march but not posted it yet,
