Description
Dragon's Dogma is the game I'd forget for awhile, remember fondly, then get back to and waste so many hours on for several days. I had to stop myself, as it was the few games I'd actually grind on to make my character (a warrior wielding giant two-handed swords) the best beast-slayer within the lands. Although the story was only interesting as a background, the combat was (and still is) unmatched due to how you could crawl over the giant monsters to strike at their weakpoints, as well exploit their specific weaknesses. The Berzerk feel was a huge plus, as the game had this hard fantasy medieval feel that, along with Dark Souls, made me love and yearn for more. The first battle with the cyclops was just a taste on what you were capable of, and while injured it still posed a danger if you rushed in without thinking. It was a tough battle at first, but before long you'd be more experienced, and you could run at any cyclops in the wild and strike them down with all the advanced skills you learned since your very first.

I have spent so much time on this game. Did you get the Dark Arisen add on? The Grim reaper fello still scares me...

I did when I purchased it for PC, but I've yet to actually finish the Dark Arisen portion. Still fun though!

Games rarely ever scare me, but that dark island of horrible death had my nerves more frayed than poor Freddy could ever dream. That game has such replay value and twists it's a shame it was over shadowed by the romance mechanic...
I'll never forget what it was like getting through the main end a second time. Mind blowing for the time, but that's just my opinion.
