Description
The classic series, Mazinger Z, was something I'd almost consider part of my childhood, but it was really more my parents'. Though it wasn't released in the US** at the time, it was popular in countries like El Salvador where my parents came from, and thus had formed a bond with. This, in turn, extended to me, where in my early teen years I was given the chance to see the Subtitled 6-disc collection of the animated series. It was a fun, simple, but often times dark series that not only gave me a love for giant robots, but as well my inspiration for my art.

Along with being a tribute, this drawing also acts as a belated Mother's Day gift, as my mother had requested something featuring the titular robot.
It was truly a great experience illustrating this piece.

**CORRECTION: I thought that Mazinger Z was never brought over to the states, but I was informed that it was actually titled as "Tranzor Z" when it was dubbed and edited for US airings.
