Description 9/22/12: I manage to get to the Racetrack and catch the Pioneer Zephyr IRM excursion to Galesburg... One of my more challenging shots! I'm on the southside of the tracks, away from foamers but an inbound BNSF UCT would block my shot so I race through the pedestrian underpass tunnel and climb the embankment just in time, but the UCT plays hell with my autofocus and the PZ comes racing by on M-2!

Just don't know why all the new passenger stuff has to be so boring. Even with heritage paint the amtraks are not much to look at. When I see an old streamliner I say to myself.. I want to ride this train.. the new stuff does not do that for me.

I agree! Why can't they put "modern" infrastructure into classic carbodies! I shoot AMTRAK cuz itz there but I really don't like it much!
