A great shot for lots of reasons... number one is that there is nothing obvious in the picture that dates it.

She is a sweet train to look at and too ride, so If you ever plan on visiting IRM while its running, take it because its a beautiful train to ride.

The US used to have a lot of Electric, examples such as the iconic GG1 of the Pennsylvania railroad. However- I think the biggest electric systems now are limited to the subways....

Is there any electrified railway in the USA? I've only seen diesel engines.

There is plenty. Amtrak's Northeast corridor, Iowa Traction, Deseret Power, Black Mesa, Chicago South Shore and many trolley and light rail lines to name a few.
