Description
This drawing is based on two photos I took with my digital camera in 2009. (It's the same flower from two different angles.)Media = Adobe Illustrator, with very minimal Photoshop use.
The flowers were drawn completely in Illustrator, in two separate files.
I thought if I worked on them in separate files and put them together at the last moment that the software would not be as likely to freeze up or slow down.
However, Illustrator would not keep my masked objects masked in Illustrator (I mean when bringing the flower from the first Illustrator file into the second Illustrator file).
I don't know how to fix that problem, so I pasted both flowers into Photoshop, and the clipping masks seemed to hold just fine.
In Photoshop, I added the following: the background (the circle and yellowish color behind the circle) and a slight blurred shadow behind both flowers (using Gaussian Blur).
Most of the time, I try to keep all my Illustrator drawings in Illustrator, keep them purely vector, but in situations like this, I didn't know what else to do.
To everyone who has faved this, (or who may in the future), thank you!
Any Deviant Art groups I submit this to obviously do have my permission to place this in their galleries.
I also do not object to any Deviant Art members adding this to their Deviant Art collections or Deviant Art "favorite" collection(s), and Deviant Art obviously has my permission to have this art on their server(s).

This is beautiful...
realistic yet also stylized.
I love how the minmalistic style brings out the wonderful colours of the petals.^^

Thank you.
I do strive for a lot of realism in my work, but I think I gave up trying to be photo-realistic years ago! Maybe that's why a combination of detail plus simple shows up in some of my pieces.
I also think keeping the background simple in some paintings or drawings keeps the viewer from being distracted, keeps them focused on the main subject of the piece.
Thanks so much for the compliment and for leaving me comments, it is very much appreciated!
