Let me tell you a story.

During Pax East 2010, I met with Andrew Hussie of Homestuck fame [link] where I gave him a Cal plushie present. [link] During this time, I was halfway through the shipment of Nus that I was making for Fangamer, who were exhibiting at Pax East. [link]

Andrew later asked me if I was interested in making a batch of plushies for him similar to what I do for Fangamer, and I agreed. So once I finished the Nus, I worked on these 50 Squiddles for about five months, from June to November. But then, Andrew decided that they would be too expensive to sell. I charge a considerable amount for each plushie, and the markup he would have to put on each seemed a bit much for a small plush. And he couldn't charge too little or else it wouldn't be worthwhile for Betelgeuse (his merch distributor) to package and mail. So he sat on them for another 4 months until he found an opportunity to sell them.

On March 20, 2011, Andrew decided to offer the Squiddles up for charity in the wake of the Japan earthquake/tsunami disaster. For $100 minimum donation, you could get a pair of Squiddles. However, they were all sold out within an hour of going up for sale!

If you would like to commission more Squiddles from me, please note that the design will be different. I do not like to make copies of plushies that I've made for companies on an official capacity, since a part of their selling point is exclusivity.
