Description
Finished 3/23/2003This is very old, but I decided to post it because I really rather like it >_> ;;;.
I drew it as an application into an "advanced" art program at school... basically got me out of gym and into two periods of DOODLING in a day, which was total sweetness. This also took me about 1.5 hours to BS super last minute. I drew it from life and my subject wouldn't stop moving =___=;.
The secret is to put uberdetails on one part of the picture (e.g. the meticulously inked fish), and then totally BS the rest with simple techniques you cannot mess up on (e.g. the big watercolor blotches)! Works like a charrrrm!
And notice how the watercolors bleed and turn ugly on the left side... taping off the edges prevents that and makes it look pretty and finished, but I DID NOT KNOW AT THE TIME!

Gasp. I heart fish with a passion of many moons. The lineart is fantastic, and I love the way you colored it. My uncle raises a lot of fish, and this looks like some of the professional drawings he keeps around. Amazing stuff, even if it's old :3

Wow it is very beautiful, really nice use of watercolors. =] lol drawing a fish from still-life would be a pain. I think you did a great job!

Beautiful washes! Makes it look very dream-like. I love the movement (? for lack of a better word) of the water and the fish. Very pretty!

Pre-wetting the paper and then adding on watercolors with a very wet brush, I think x_x;;.
