His upperbody seems too large for his legs. It gives him a midget sort of look.
Really nice textures though. It'd be nice to see his "dreads" bent in the direction of gravity
Like real hair. They look too stiff.

looks very good, but the hair (dreadlocks) is too stiff and traverse the torso of the character. Maybe you can tweak them with skin wrap or with the freeform tools (provided it's a recent version of 3ds max and the locks have enough polys).

3ds max
and these days a sculpting app is also a good thing to learn.
Zbrush or Mudbox are good choices.
