Description
How much has technology become a part of us? There’s a growing debate between people who love our modern, digitally enhanced lifestyle and those who are unsettled by it. The machine age is not going away. We’re sure to depend increasingly on digital assistance for thinking and socializing, and each new technology will extend our reach while threatening to swallow even more of our attention. As we face that trade-off, figuring out how to integrate machine intelligence into our personal lives becomes the key challenge. And the real question is, what sort of cyborg do you want to be? This piece is meant to reflect that dilemma. It’s drawn from life, and produced digitally. With the intention that the process would also reflect the idea behind the work.Related content

Great combination of traditional and digital art! I really love the halftone dot patterns and coloring! The background is very abstract, almost more of a magazine illustration, but gives a futuristic feeling. If you could find a way to include/continue your black line work within the cyborg arm I think that would help make this a more continuous piece. The arm being a focal point seems to get lost without the black line work and it also makes the arm seem to be separate from the body. The piece's summary definitely covers some of this disjointed feeling. This piece would be great for an article covering the topics you mention in the summary e.deviantart.net/emoticons/w/w… " width="15" height="15" alt="

thanks for the feedback dude! I appreciate it. I've shown this to three or four people so far and all I've gotten is "looks good" : ( so really, thanks for taking some time and sending me your thoughts. I did this for the Artprize event we have in Grand Rapids in september. (you guys should come up - it's awesome!) I've been getting in to using fractal art in my pieces lately and this was the result. I see what you're saying with dropping the black line around the arm/hand. I initially did it to help make it look more mechanical. I'll put it back on there and see if that makes it look more unified. thanks again! say hi to Carrie (and G5)

NP Hopefully we will find time to stop up for AP this year. In the past years we have made really quick trips through GR to check out the Art but. Keep up the awesome work!
