Description
This man gave his consent to being photographed. My friend gave him money afterwards. I only took two photos of him; he happily carried on eating his crisps.Stock photo. Please mention where you found the photo and note me with a link to your deviation. Thanks.

Aww... This makes me so sad to see; it's a pretty harsh reminder that there are so many men and women like him out there... Wish we could help them all
Oh, and I used this image in a non-commercial video [link] I made. If I ever upload it to Youtube, I'll make sure to give you credit for it. Photobucket's description fields are too short!

agreed but some of them have done it to themselves. some chose drugs or beer over getting a job.

ehhh, no offense, even though he said it was okay to photograph him, i still think its a little harsh to put it on dA

"No offense", I think that's exactly the purpose of your comment. I wouldn't have posted it if he'd objected. And by the way, I work with homeless people, so there was no intention to exploit the man.

This photo is absolutely perfect for the idea of a manipulation I have in mind. Thank you for sharing such great stock. I'll let you know when I put it on DeviantArt after I finish.

Oops! Sorry, I guess I must have mixed up your comment with someone else's comment in my inbox; I had 2 or 3 comments from people who had used the photo. It doesn't help being a non-subscriber on this account as I can't read the comments without opening them first, it makes me appreciate being a subscriber on my main account.
Ah, well. Let me know if you do use the photo.

Homeless old men make me think of my dad...even though he's not homeless. He looks the part, though.
I'd have given him money too. Sometimes I think about going down to Skid Row with a dozen dollar coins in my pocket to take pictures of the inhabitants.
Sad looking thing. I'm glad that he had the crisps.

If you do, make sure you have someone with you. I was targetted by someone today when I was outside a shop alone. Luckily, I had some loose coins in my pocket so I didn't need to go for my purse. A student from Bath disappeared a year or two ago when she went to interview homeless people alone. I'm reasonably safe where I work, so I rarely feel in danger. I've had a couple of awkward moments though. Once, I took a homeless guy further into the building to show him directions on a big map and he wrapped his arm arond me in a vice-like grip and started getting sleazy ... I played it cool and wriggled free. I used to put myself in dangerous situations when I'd go out sketching when I was younger. - once, I ended up sharing a can of lager with a tramp, rather than risk offending him ... Ewww! I didn't want to abandon my drawing at the time and he just sat quietly by me as I was sketching.
In the second photo, I noticed how badly stained the crotch area of his trousers were. But, I guess you'll be wishing I hadn't mentioned that

I will certainly go out with someone if I do that. Thanks for the warning.
I did actually notice the stain in the other picture... which is why this one got the comment and the other didn't.

No, I never so him walk. He was in that squat position the whole time.
We did have a homeless junkie outsside the centre just over a week ago - quite old for a junkie. He had wet himself while he was lying down, stoned. He wanted a change of trousers. At first I said no, then I took pity on him. For an awful moment, I thought he was going to change his trousers outside, under the scrutiny of our cctv cameras (the monitors are in my reception booth). We were not allowed to let him into the hostel btw, as harsh as that sounds. We've had people come in so drunk or so out of it that they just urinate on the floor or become a hazard to themselves and others. One woman was so sozzled, she was just pouring the booze into her mouth whilst continuinly peeing - the reception foyer became quite a puddle. The police moved her on eventually. The smells can be bad.

Gah, what a nasty thing to have to watch. The everfilling, ever spilling woman fountain. It's truly sad the state some people get themselves into.
