I wanted to draw some more Terra from Teen Titans and so drew Terra while practicing different postures from life drawing templates

I've drawn Terra in the past as well, you can really see the difference in drawing skill! I guess practice really does make you better in time

Yeah same! I mean a part of me is/was disappointed that it's not 100% canon to their proper characters, but then if it were these variants wouldn't be who they were I guess haha. Afterall, the shows version of Starfire had her as being very innocent while in the comics she's slept around with people

I love Terra ! Does anyone else find it totally unfair that Terra got so much shit for what she did which I`ll admit was terrible but The Titans never really had to answer for all their stupid , selfish , insensitive , unheroic actions throughout The Series , many of which were in The Terra Arc of The Series and only exacerbated the entire situation ?

I was okay with Terra, until I actually read the comics and found out she was Slade's lover and only turned against him Titans endingwhen she found out he had an ex-wife and felt deceived... Therefore she was selfish to the end and that's why I don't like her. I prefer the Teen Titans ending....

Ya but even in The Comics she had a tragic side including a heartbreaking Backstory , subtle hints that she cared about The Titans more than she let on that could not possibly have been faked and Slade later admitted to drugging her for months until her " conscience was a black hole making her the perfect tool " and said " The problem with Tara was we were too hasty , the drugs made her remorseless as intended but also combined with her pre-existing psychological and emotional issues made her paranoid and rebellious ! " Also , you need to realize Marv Wolfman`s vehemant demonizing of Tara in the latter half of the " Judas Contract " Arc had an ulterior motive : Justifying creating a character purely for shock value and to be killed off ! Wolfman`s a total control freak and probably a closet sexist , he even outright called Tara a " slut " in multiple interviews and who wrote her that way ? Him , that`s who ! And not only that but he`s bullied other NTT Comics Writers for daring to even consider ressurrecting the original Terra as anything more than a zombie and suggesting she`s anything other than pure evil !

I agree, it would actually be better if they decided to give more sides to Terra's character. She didn't just wake up one morning and say "Hey! Imma destroy the Teen Titans today! Yay!" And Marv has to admit that Terra's character has more sides to her than her "evil" side.

I agree here with you, cos they've each had inner problems and whatnot in the past and at least one member of the group consolidated the other member with that problem and cheered them up, but when it was with Terra she just left and that was that. Though her betrayal did hurt them and lose them their Tower, which someone would've been pretty mad at, one of them could've tried to sympathize with her
Though I recently in trivia that the original character was created with the purpose of dying later on and that the animated Terra was made more sympathetic...but hey, at least we got the Terra we liked haha

And to be fair , several of them did try to sympathize with her , just never at the right moments and they almost always spent more time of The Terra Arc pointing fingers at her , feeling sorry for themselves and Hell even threatening her at the exact moment she`d clearly lost all hope of being accepted for who she was deep down ( A vulnerable , wounded , self-loathing person who desparately needed understanding , acceptance and care far beyond what she was given by either The Titans or Slade ) ! by The Titans or Slade , which is totally unheroic behavior even if she did betray them , a true hero would try to understand why she betrayed them and then explain why what she did was wrong and try to make it better , ( Especially Raven of all people , a freakin` Half-Demon who`s practically The Antichrist destined to usher in The Apocalypse on her Birthday for cryin` out loud ! You`d think she`d have sympathized with Terra`s self-loathing and inner turmoil better than anyone but no , she put the most pressure of all The Titans on Terra to act like an " Idealized " version of herself in order to gain their trust hence Terra`s " I`m never gonna be good enough for you , am I ? " to Robin ( That line right there should have made it perfectly clear to Robin that despite what she`d done and the way she was acting at the time those were not the words of a purely evil person but a person who had been severely hurt and was trying to bury her emotions in the worst way possible , Raven really is the sin of Pride personified ! )

Comic Book Terra was far more evil and unrepentant than her Animated Counterpart no doubt although as in The Animated Series her Relationship with Beast Boy was a chaotic mix of manipulation and genuine affection on both their parts though Terra was more reluctant to admit to the latter aspect and Beast Boy to the former . Despite her evil however , The Titans did care for her somewhat in The Comics even after her Betrayal whereas in The Animated Series they didn`t care for her enough when she needed that caring most exacerbating the situation ,she also ended up temporarily killing Slade/Deathstroke though not out of remorse but because she realized he was using her and her paranoia had reached a fever pitch to the point she no longer cared about her own life , ultimately Terra gained a cult Fanbase in part due to the popularity of The " Judas Contract " Arc and in part due to the complexities in her Character . As a result , Comic Book Writers made several attempts to maake her more sympathetic , most of these attempts failed miserably due to the stigma from her actions and real attitude . However , they did eventually come up with a Backstory that made her actions , if not forgivable , atleast somewhat more understandable and her legacy would live on in a number of superheroine successors struggling to atone for their Predecessor`s sins ( These included a girl from the future who had Terra`s features , powers and pre-sociopathic personality ( Yes , even in The Comics the original Terra did not start out as a sociopath though she already was when she met The Titans and just hid it well unlike The Animated Version , both though were severely emotionally and psychologically damaged from their tragic pasts , by the time the original Terra in The Comics met The Titans she was already far too damaged to be helped not that The Titans didn`t try and she did have a human side deep down as evil as she was , even the worst sociopaths tend to have atleast a tiny sliver of humanity , does that excuse their actions ? No , ofcourse not but it`s important to distinguish evil Humans from pure evil Demons , in The Animated Version The Titans could well have helped Terra but in their selfish Slade fixation ignored the clear signs of a wounded personality and recklessly endangered her . I can`t believe how many people seem to forget that in The Animated Series it was Beast Boy who introduced Terra to Slade at her most vulnerable in the first place . So really , Terra may have betrayed The Titans but in The Animated Version they betrayed her first by practically delivering her right into Slade`s clutches at her most vulnerable ( Geo-Force would be pissed ! ) even if it was unwitting !
