Description

The reason we really did not care for the dark camo on Euro-1 jets!

F-4D-33-MC, 66-8806 assigned to the 457th TFS, 301st TFW home based at Carswell AFB seen on the Luke AFB reserve ramp during a unit deployment in September 1985.

This jet was one of a handful of F-4D and RF-4C aircraft that were fitted with the AN/ARN-92 LORAN (LOng RAnge Navigation) receiver and its distinctive 'Towel Rack" antenna mounted on the spine during the Vietnam War to more accurately pin point target areas.
