Description F-102A 56-1266 formerly assigned to the 118 FIS, 103 FIG, Connecticut ANG. This unit was based at Bradley IAP and was photographed on my first visit at MASDC in Sep 1982.

I never got a chance to photograph an operational Duece!

I saw many, but were operational as drones.

I saw a few drones, but not any in ANG service. I saw a fewF-100's before they went away!

Looks like it was one of the ones that saw service in SEA. . .

Possibly. In the mid-1960 time frame the acft were all reciving the SEA scheme when they went into Depot or scheduled repaint. The F-102's use in Vietnam was pretty limited. I think there was one Duece in a combat loss to a MiG 21and several attritions due to accidents. The 509 FIS was originally deployed out of Clark AB, PI. with a PK tail code and forward stationed out of Tan Son Nuht and Da Nang SVn. The 64th FIS was also deployed from Clark and forward located at Udorn Thailand.
The 82 FIS based out of Naha Japan was forward located to Bien Hoa SVn as well. All sat alert to support Arc Light missions early in the war.

If you say so. The boneyard in Tucson is my favorite place on the planet!

Actually no. There are various stages in storage of acft. Alot of acft brought in will fly out again. Some are just brought in because the user does not need it at that moment, but mission needs may dictate removal for storage. A lot of acft go out under MAP to foreign users. Some acft are kept for spare parts and then the last category is for scrap. At the time I shot this Duece, The PQM102 target program was winding down. This acft would be scrapped in several years but it was still being held for spares.
