RF-4C-36-MC, 67-0463 assigned to the 16th TRS, 363d TFW, home based at Shaw AFB seen transient at Davis-Monthan AFB in July 1983.I know I have posted pics of this jet in the past, but it one of my favorite RF-4C pics!

Great shots of these awesome birds!! One question: what does the "R" in "RF4-c" mean?

The "R" prefix to the aircraft designation 'F-4C' means it is meant for the reconaissance mission.
If you look at one of the grey painted RF-4C's you can see a window for the forward looking camera, two trapezoidal windows for the side looking cameras and a 'pointed shaped window on the bottom of the camera fairing for a panoramic camera w/ a slewing head.
The "TRS" in the squadron designation means Tactical Reconnaissance Squadron.
