lovely repetition here, you created a lot of movement, it looks like a great parade... a parade of killing machines, but none the less beautifully colored. i love how you repeated the austronauts as background texture as well.

very nice luke. another great colorful piece from you... im a bit skeptical of the use of the photoshop filters on the bottom left... but then again it really does play right into some interesting commentary that you could make up if ya wanted. i met with a design teacher that i respect a great deal this morning and he made some comments about being mad as hell about how the era of desktop publishing has made it so that pretty much anyone can sit down at photoshop, throw down some filters and text to make something look pretty, and call themselves graphic designers... but in lots of ways, and knowing a lot of your previous works, you are kinda workin to subvert that notion of uninformed kids pretending to be artists or designers. um.. what was i talking about again? oh yeah. astronauts. im still waiting for the era of desktop space travel for the people.

actually, there are no filters on this whole piece othre than "sharpen". I just did a ton of layering of manual brushing/scratching because I really wanted to focus on texture.

ha. i can explain the whole premise of this most recent series...they're far more than just an aesthetic experience. my childhood friend chris who moved away and i are working on this collaberative series and it's sort of became a great story about the battle between my astronauts and his cosmonauts.
bearing that in mind, you may have a better idea about what is happening as the images progress.
