Yet another tattoo commission, this time a celtic dire wolf rampant surrounded by tribal designs. This is the mythical dire, not the prehistoric one (difference: the prehistorics weren't snaggle-toothed or much larger than normal timber wolves). This was originally going to be black and white, but the red just seemed so much more dramatic.I love his mane. He's curly-furred, heh.
Done in Photoshop Elements 4.0, mostly with the lasso tool.

This has wormed its way into my subconscious somehow. I've been trying to design my coat of arms for the SCA (society for creative anachronisms) and i got the brilliant idea for a wolf rearing up with its tongue sticking out. Looked all over the net for such a thing in the style i was thinking of, didn't find anything. Then today, i was looking through my favorites and there it was! curly fur and all! i might hav to get in touch with you about a commission, this but altered a bit ^-^

This reminds me of a 'Goosebump-y' novel about a girl who visits relatives in Ireland only to find out her family is the sworn enemy of a clan of werewolves. The weres were distingiushed by having red fur. This could have been their C.o.A

unfortunately when i was there it rained alot and we were mainly stuck indoors playing cards and connect four tournaments. But it is a lovely place when the sun comes out.

we did have one memorable walk along a cliff in a massive storm complete with thunder lightning and raindrops as big as acorns and that was fun.
