Description
Varg, created by , is a blind werewolf butcher in his story "Lillium Lupus". Oddly enough, Jackal claims Varg is based, at least in part, on myself! So here's a little well-deserved fanart due to my old Net friend.Though Varg is originally a character from Jackal's book, he roleplays this character at the BBA roleplaying forum (owned by ) as practice for writing about the real thing and getting a feel for his character. Varg at the BBA is blind timber wolf, one belonging to the Alteron pack (but only so he can sit on his log without being harassed, he really has no interest in following their rules or maintaining their prejudices). So here he sleeps, deceptively peaceful, on his favored 'throne', ready to lash out in a millisecond at any who dare disturb his nap.
Reminds me of my late cat.

Took around 30 minutes on Painter Classic using the chalk tool.

I know you've read my comments. Well, I suspect, but I'm reposting them anyway....so you can look back on them or...so other can see what -real- in depth comments are xD
you did an excellent job shading this to show a high density fur, esspecially on his neck and down his back. He looks so soft..but I wouldn't pat him. You convey well the kind of peaceful sleep I contributed to him. He's a fairly heavy sleeper. His scars, I imagin, would be difficult to do in chalk but I supremely like the way they are done on his front shoulder, back and face. The others are intigrated into the deep fur, and that is a -very- good idea of something to do when fced with this realistic medium ^.^
While he looks peaceful, you've managed to make the Court of the Log increadibly ominous. There's a nice fog (I think) and the trees do all seem pillar, if not soldier like. Very reflective of the sort of atmosphere The court has...I adore this ^.^ The log is mossy and decaying to black on the bottom!!
You did an excellent job of characterising the atmosphere and betraying the character's personality. I often personify the Court as an entity and character unto itself, obediant to Vargy or at least revolving around him. I'm -very-, very impressed with this ^.^ *sprinkles some maggots about*
Looks quite like the big bad wolf, doesn't he?

I think, had he not been blinded, he wouldn't be nearly so imposing.

Entirely possible. I'm sure he wouldn't even be alive. When he wasn't blinded he was a reckless, relentless son of a gun who did little more than waste his Gawd given fighting potential on being a pushy and homicidal tyrant. Even where a simplistic and militaristic personality like Varg's is concerned, cognicence is the key to a killer.

You know I inferred that he would've died. He doesn't seem like the type who was originally as cold and calculating as now. Someone with that bad a temper would've killed himself, by mistake or assination, a long time ago.
