You're in an old part of DA... I drew this when you were probably 3 years old according to your profile. You will see the slash when you are a lot older, there are nuances to this anime that you're just not going to see just yet, it's a very adult anime in many aspects. So please do not label things "weird" when I was well in my thirties and watching this anime when it was new. Just if you don't like something yet, it is much more polite to just move on to look at artwork that is more your speed and age group. I made this exact same image in reverse just for younger viewers.Β

I am sorry, I did not mean to insult this in any way, I actually liked the piece, only a few flaws I could see. What I meant by "weird" was I was just going through deviantart, and found them naked out of nowhere. Nothing to do with the art, it was just because I wasn't expecting to find it. And I have seen the entire anime, and I do see the nuances, or most of them at least. They hint at a lot of things, so this art makes sense. One more thing, don't try to judge someones "speed" because of their age.

If you think nude art (and this is very tame nudity at that) is "weird" on DA then you really should not be on DA it's everywhere and a lot more graphic too. And of course there are flaws this piece it is over a decade old and I'd have deleted this ages ago if I didn't get flooded with complaints every time I try to trash it. Well I promise not to judge maturity when you learn the difference between insults and comments. Just calling something weird is juvenile, and not in the least bit constructive and something you just don't leave as a comment on an artist's work, it's impolite.Β

I don't think you understand what I said. I do not think nude art is "weird". I know I'm bound to see it because I purposefully don't hide the mature content. What I thought was "weird" was HOW I found it. I was looking at some kid's favorites, and didn't expect to see this. The nudity doesn't bother me. Especially this; You can't even see anything. And I know "weird" isn't something you should say on artwork, but this was posted so long ago, I didn't even think anyone would notice. All I did was mindlessly post a comment. I didn't think that would stir up trouble.

Well now you know to be more mindful. Yes, I posted this piece of art a decade ago, but you can easily see, by clicking my username I'm still quite active on DA. Next time you'll know, don't assume the artist won't see what you "mindlessly" post, it shows up in our inbox after all.

I didn't assume you wouldn't see it, I just assumed you wouldn't care. But anyway, now that I've read your profile, I see there is no winning this battle. You have a strong opinion about not posting pointless comments, so I'll keep that in mind whenever I leave a comment from now on; especially if I comment on your art. Thank you and I'm not angry or upset, just concerned (as you can now tell) with the current state of commentary on this site. A decade ago people left comments that were helpful, complimentary or really, really mean. Today, people are so used to twitter and Facebook statuses where they post every minute of their day openly and freely and that's fine, but they carry that attitude over into artwork comments and just say whatever they want to and blurt out whatever they are thinking, when it shouls just stay in your thoughts... and someone with a thinner skin than mine or a fragile ego could get really hurt, offended or stop drawing all together (I've seen that happen so many times. It's terribly sad.) Therefore, when they quit they never get better. People discourage artists so very easily, to the point they stop trying to get better and just quit. When you find an error, be nice, compliment something you do like in an image, offer to help them correct the flaw you see, then end on a positive. That keeps beginners drawing and no one's feelings potentially get hurt and you both win, because that artist will continue to grow and improve because you helped them and took the time to leave a constructive comment and not offhanded remarks like you would do on twitter or Facebook. I'm far too old to care about comments like this personally, but some of my students would take it personally and give up. Which is why when someone leaves them on my art, I address the problem.
