TRIVIA:
-also called Mardyakhor, or martichoras which means "man eater"
- old legends tell that it has the head of a human, three rows of teeth, a body of a lion or tiger and a tail which either looks like a morning star or a porcupines tail. most of these old tells are accurate to the Manticore.
- Manticore is the male version of the Sfinks. when they first were discovered, many believed they were a species for themselves. it later discovered that the Sphinx is the Females of this species
- its red spikes are poisonous and will paralyze the stung, but it is not lethal. Manticore only goes in for the killing blow when the prey stops moving. it is uncommon to see them hunt like normal big cats.
- Manticore has three rows of teeth which are a thing the Feldo family are known for. they loose the teeth if it breaks or get stuck in something and a new tooth takes its place. they can changes all of their teeth around 8 to 10 times through their whole life
- the Manticore is only seen around the females and cubs around mating. they are known to get rid of cubs there is born outside the breeding period even if they are biological theirs, since most cubs are already mature when the males come to breed. the cub killing is a rare occasion
- there is a saying on Anuvina; the song of a Manticore. it pretty much the same saying as the Tears of a Crocodile/Crocodile tears. a Manticore's 'purring' sounds like a sad or sober song and it mostly does this purring while eating. many naïve beings say that the Manticore is sad while it eats because of the noise it makes, hence the saying of the Song of the Manticore.
