I like the name of the shot. It really does say it all in a word.

Let me start off by saying what bothers me about the shot.

I would have personally liked to have seen a clearer, crisper shot. Something with some fine detail to it. The subject works perfectly for the title. But, I think more detail would have enhanced the shot and made more of an impact.

The open plain/field there and the lone structure, which is in the process of deteriorating, lends itself to the word "Solitaire". There is nothing there of note. Just those few things. The field and the structure. Very simplistic, very basic.

This shot being done in black and white works perfectly as well. We get the idea of just how basic and uncomplicated things are here.

But, at the end of the day, the shot is in fact not as clear as it could be and that detracts from it. It could have been better.

Just my humble opinion.

I like the use of black and white for this photo. But I especially like the sense of proportion. Good shot
