Standing the Test of Time - 12" x 18" - August 2012 - Watercolour

Here she is - my completed painting!! I am so UTTERLY thrilled with this painting, and have entered it into the CSPWC's Open Water Watercolour competition - keep your fingers crossed for me!!

This painting features one of three African elephants (Iringa, 42, Toka, 41, or Thika, 31) from the Toronto Zoo. I've only ever visited this zoo once, with a dear friend, back in 2009, when my photo reference was taken, and didn't know of their fate until recently when I was researching on the net, trying to gather a little more information on which one I had painted. I hope all three 'stand the test of time' with their impending move.
