Amazing photo. Perfectly captures my feelings when I was in the army. Being on guard duty, in winter, alone at a remote part of the camp, having recently broken up with g/f and on tense (even hostile) terms with people at home... I was before a scene like this. It didn't get to real poetry status though, until "Again" by the band Archive started playing on the radio. The chill that ensued inside was the worst I have ever felt in my life.

The photo has a strong atmosphere to it, and the black and white tone along with the grainy look and the person's and dog'sΒ silhouette all stack upon this dark tone to the photograph.
