Description
Having just got back from Flight Camp with a week and a half of Summer Vacation left, Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy get permission from their parents to explore the surface of Equestria. Ever since Fluttershy flew back up to Cloudsdale, she hasn't been able to stop talking about how great everything is on solid ground. Her new best friend, Rainbow Dash, is curious to see what it's really like. They head into Ponyville to spend a some of their allowance on a fresh, ripe watermelon. With one last stroll around town, the two of them haul the giant fruit back up to Rainbow's house. Rainbow's Dad is commissioned to slice the wonderful treat up for the fillies to enjoy. Dash learns that the surface has many great things to offer... especially things like watermelon.

Another adorable commission from my good friend I had a lot of fun coming up with Rainbow's voracious consumption of watermelon, what with the seeds and juice all over the place. She really likes her melon. I also liked coming up with the different ways the two pegasi would be sitting. I think even something as simple as their composure/posture helps to show off some of their personality. It was interesting to try and design Rainbow Dad's Cutie Mark; I jumped in the General™ anonymously to get a few anon's take on what it could possibly be. The most believable idea was a star/comet with a multi-colored trail (though given the nature of Cutie Marks in the show, a butterfly on steroids could work just as well). I thought the shooting star fit the bill, so I created a relatively 'accurate' design and proceeded to cover most of it up. Brilliant, I know. (I actually do have a full/separate vector of it; might post it up later if requested).
