Description Well as much as someone who has no idea what it is can be. Though he doesn't seem that enthused about it really. Likely when he worked out this isn't something he can fix by smacking it with a mallet, or fix with a needle and thread, or by making it coffee.

From the fantastic and excellent;

Featuring Veskatt! The Skurvy Ship Surgeon who has started to show up in the main Warhammer stories. He will be showing up more later in a more physical capacity as well as the stories as Skaven healers seem to be pretty rare. Well unless you want your healing to come with a free extra finger and a debt to Moulder. And for his physical appearance I'll hopefully be able to show off some of that soon too.

Between Copher and Lashiek, three days before Bretonnia lead up 1

"What-what? Can...sir? Sure Sir-Captain can. He owns the ship-boat, the crew, and me. He can do whatever he wants. You make no sense Scale-thing. I stich-sew cuts and remove infected paws. And make drinks. Sound-seems like this can-sir is a mutation. Can't fix that. May not want to fix-fix that. Depends if Pestilens-clan is looking this way when you ask-question that." The dock thankfully mostly covered by awnings to keep the cargo from spoiling. As well as the crew moving about on it. While Araby the place was often painfully hot and uninviting at least the docks Skurvy frequented were pretty great. Damn sand getting stuck in fur for weeks. The man-things eager to trade gold, almost useless to the rat-men, for many things that would sell for boxes of Warp back across the ocean. That and Skully were often here to trade too. This lizard-thing however was a new thing on the docks. Yellow like some of those Lizard-things in Lustria-jungle. But much more clothed and thinner. And sounded weird. Well did it really?

Thankfully Veskatt had never heard a Lizardman speak so he couldn't really compare but it spoke words he could understand. Not screams and roars. So benefit. And had offered to part with a very nice looking scarf for only a few coins. A steal if ever the surgeon had seen one! But the purpose behind the words on the scarf meant nothing to him. As did its explanation when he had asked.

"I didn't expect you to be able to Healer. Just know that your donation will assist in the eventual curing of this disease." It said with a smile which just made Vesk shrug as he looked at the small cart of scarfs to the lizards side. Well having to lean to the side a good bit to see it as the yellow scale-thing was a good three heads taller than he.

"Well...good-good I guess. If you cure this thing then that means a lot of money-favors for you." Giving it a thumbs up which the scale just rolled their eyes at.

"I don't want those things Rat. I just want the disease finally gone so it stops ruining the lives of so many."

"Suuuure-sure you don't," Vesk would scoff, as if even the notion was foolish, before adding. "I would have thought that there are more big-immediate things ruining lives that would be easier to fix-stitch than a mutation." Though he would pat his scarf and shrug. "But you do you-you."

"I will - and you continue to do your work as well." Both looking over as the large bell on the Wave Fang was rung and a raspy but easily heard voice followed.

"Five minutes crew! You not on board I leave you behind! And take your haul-treasure!" Clawcaptain Grot was nothing if not clear - helped work flow better. The work on the dock picking up quick as the yellow scale added.

"You have a First mate to tend to after all. I hope you soothe better than you dress." Veskatt tiling his head before he turned back to ask how the hells it knew that and to retort about his uniform but they were gone. As was their cart of scarfs. Weird. But he did indeed have a sick first mate to attend too so the crew rat would grab a grain sack and ascend the gangway. He could worry about that weird scale later. He had a scarf and she had a few useless gold coins. A win win!

Though it was a lose-lose one day later as the shore of Tilea rose into view over the waves. The First Mate grew a brand new mutation! A long dagger stuck half into the base of their spine-back. Veskatt hadn't even been in the room when it had happened but as the first to discover the death he was blamed for it. Justice, such as it was, was pretty quick in Skurvy. And a good source of entertainment for the crew! In fact the Storm-vermarines were already sharing the few items from Veskatts bunk among themselves before he had even taken his first step onto the plank. The fashionable scarf already grabbed by the biggest Blackfur and around the blade on his helmet. The ship only barely slowly down as the crew cheered and booed in equal measure as the surgeon tried to hang on in the wind and edge out further on the board. Better than having his head removed from his shoulders fully by Grots' prized Scimitar. Tiny chance of survival was better than none after all.

"Out you go-go Veskatt!" Grot would call over his crew as he made a shoo-shoo gesture with his none sword hand. "Feed the fishies!" The surgeon trying not to look down that much but not able to help himself as he clung to the bord. Which soon proved unhelpful as the Vermarines all yanked it back very quickly. Vesk soon finding himself holding onto air as he plummeted down to the sea. By the time he surfaced the rear of the ship had already passed him. Leaving the healer with the choice to sink or swim. And at least the currents helped him get closer to land. And thank the Great Horned One and the sea itself that when he finally gasped his way to land it was other Skaven who found him and not man-things. Sure he was looted and forced to march with legs he couldn't feel but he was alive. And soon in a Warren. A pretty small time one. But alive. He could work with alive.

Well until Skurvy found out he was here and not doing ship work anymore.
