it's based on a dutch sentence saying: de ÊÊn zijn dood is de ander zijn brood. (one's dead is another mans bread) so in this case, the bag is leeking with water, this will keep the flower alive, but this also means that in an amount of time the fish will have no water to swim in and dies... (that's it in short and bad english )
