This is the first in a series of a few of these.This took a few days to set up, because I had to make a ghetto lighting rig:

Little photoshop work, nothing that couldn't have been done in a darkroom.
also> the martini glass was a Christmas gift from Shawn... I really love martini glasses.
UPDATE:
I brightened the image because people told me to, and I think they were right....do you?
Edit:
I changed the border....because the old one just wasn't doing it for me.

Wow... this one's goin' in my favorites. And, there's nothin' wrong with ghetto rigs. I've been using a folded sheet of printer paper set up on my scanner for my "studio".

It looks even better now that you brightened it a little. I did like it before and now it just looks amazing.

no. it's just a bit darker. what kind of blood do you have? blood is not copper thats when it drys.

maybe i owed you a better critique, but there's really nothing that needs changing, in my opinion. the things others mentioned have been taken care of. it captures the moment of the drop hitting the water and suspends it forever, which is cool in the extreme.
metallic, huh? i've tasted my own, but never anyone else's. wonder if it's like wine, a different taste due to different variables....

I do think the white border looks very nice on it.

the drop was caught nicely, but i wish the background was a little brighter - something to contrast it nicely.

A simple but dramatic shot. I like this one.
But I would prefer a brighter background, maybe more contrast. And the signature was a bit distracting.
But overall, a nice photo

Thank you very much, and thank you even more for the good, honest critique. I was wondering about the signature myself, do you think it'd be better if it were smaller? As for the background, I'd have to disagree with you and say that I like it darker, but I could do something with the contrast. I will most likely upload a variation of this, with the colors played with.
