Oh my God, I am posting something! D: And look, I posted a lot of things this week. It's magic.Okay, let's leave my freaking aside... a not-so-new picture of Leon :3 And using his jointed hand of doom! 8D Maaaan these are so much fun, I can't understand how I lived my life without jointed hands! Just for existing, they make the dolls a lot more expressive D:

OK, so about how tall is he? I can't quite imagine jointed fingers on a 12" (30cm) figure, but maybe they're just really really little joints.
Oh and yes, hands add *SO* much to the expression on figures. One of my favorite parts in a sculpture. (Well, that and the eyes... and the shoulders... and toes... and... well... I guess everything else. :-P)

This one is 65cm tall, but yeah, you don't imagine what those guys can do! I've seen tiny jointed hands for 22cm figures... they're baby hands, though, but still awesome. I didn't even know that was possible.
I can't really say which body part I like most in sculptures, because I think the human body as an art form is so beautiful that every detail can be a plus when done right. I like muscles, curves, breasts, fingers, lips, nipples, veins, eyes, toes... anything!

hehe... my point exactly! I love to sculpt hands, but even something like shoulders carry so much expression. Sometimes I'll even sculpt a figure's shoulders with my eyes closed because I can sometimes feel the emotion in them better through my fingers than I can with my eyes.
I think that's why I always feel drawn back to doing figures, even when everyone else tells me how hard they are to do.

Indeed, you're totally right! If I were a sculptor, I'd definitely try sculpting professional dancers. Because they are so good in show emotions with only their bodies... it's beautiful.
I always feel like drawing figures much more than other things because of that too!

It's interesting that, when I go to art shows, I see lots of other wonderfully skilled potters and people who make beautiful vessels, but it's rare to find anyone who does figure sculptures. Lots of paintings of people and figures, but not sculptors. I guess it's still good to be "unique" sometimes.

Yay que legal!! Jointed hands é muito mágico!! Na época que lançou, a gente não era acostumado, e eu achei super estranho... aí fiquei pensando que pareciam mãos de caveira hifdlahifuhdsiuh XD Mas depois que eu vi umas fotos da SDInk, e do quão expressivas elas podem ser e se forem bem feitas ficam tão naturais, acabei me rendendo a essas malditas... quando a gente tem uma em casa então, é a maior diversão ficar posando as bichinhas hahahha XD Parabéns, espero que chegue logo, você vai se divertir pra caramba!
