Schaw (sh-aw) is a planet that is home to a race of mysterious and nocturnal people called schaws, or schaw-nees.
These people have black skin with undertones coming in grey, dark violet, dark blue, and sometimes dark green.
Their eyes have four rings around the pupil that can dilate along with the pupil itself.
Their eyes are designed for seeing in darkness, and in daylight their vision tends to be less than great.

Schaws have two fingers and a thumb just like irkens and vortians, but with something special beneath the skin.
Schaws are energy workers, able to channel star dust through their bodies and project it through the palms of their hands in small amounts.
The more emotion going into it, the richer the energy's color and the brighter the star dust.
When finished with it they can simply wave it away and it vanishes.
The point of this is for schaws to express their emotions when the words just won't come to them.
They can also use it to silence or distract people that they're uncomfortable around.
During intimacy, it is typical for a schaw to channel star matter and place their hand on their lover's heart to help them feel what they're feeling, which deepens the experience.

Crime is quite rare on Schaw.
The people are peaceful and live lives centered around pacifism, which is part of what makes them reclusive.
Not very many people know much about them, because they want to remain under the radar.
The schaw-nee, however, do find other races fascinating and study them.

Schaw is not a very technological planet, but with their well-wired brains, they learn the material very quickly and have unique ways in helping with it.

When away from their home planet or even just interacting with strangers of their own kind, schaws often dress conservatively and hide most of their bodies.

The schaw are a very shy and delicate people who interact quietly with their environment and with others.
Their planet is among the quietest known containing life.
Even when they gather in large numbers, they are fairly reserved and shy, but also very friendly and lacking in judgment.
Telepathy is a common practice amongst schaws as well, which can create even more external silence.
This suggests they're slightly more developed than other races, and while they can telepath with other races, they tend not to for fear of scaring them.

It's not shocking that they can naturally perform amazing tasks with their minds given their very large melon-like skulls.
Their brains are large and very protected within that skull, so schaws make a point to take good care of their heads.

Schaws have a set of flexible nubs towards the back of their heads which they use to enhance hearing, sense other living creatures, convey emotion, and other various little things.
Much like an irken antenna, they are sensitive and can even detect vibrations.

Schaw-nee tears are extremely valuable.
They hold star matter and many healing properties, which the people use in their own medicine.
And while they tend to stay relatively hidden, the croosh occasionally ask them for tear donations, which the schaws happily oblige to give.

~~Exhedra~~

A schwa-nee woman who is 48 years old, she stunted her aging at 28.
When the Resisty visited her planet and explained the irken apocalypse going on around the universe, Exhedra felt a sense of duty, and volunteered to join their team.
When her family tried to convince her not to do such a thing, she informed them that she felt it was what the Great Force wanted of her, and they kindly sent her off with praise and love.
Lard Nar gave them communicators so Exhedra could talk to them from time to time, and she went off.

Leaving her home planet was hard and frightening.
Her people hardly ever go into space, so when she did it, there was much to be nervous about.
Thankfully, the current members of the team were very welcoming to her, and she was both relieved and uneasy when she figured out they were a brand new bunch.

Exhedra learned to help pilot the ship, but with her natural spiritual gifts, Lard Nar was surprised to find out the schwa-nee woman could sense small breaks and weaknesses in the ship.
She would point them out, and someone else would fix it.
With such a ragtag team, her assistance was greatly needed and appreciated.
She otherwise spent her time onboard learning to help fix things, work new technology, and keep an eye on everyone.

From a distance, Exhedra always admired Lard Nar, and found him attractive.
She was drawn to his passion, intelligence, and felt curiosity over the depth of his pain.
Of all the members, she was the only one Lard would deeply confide in, and remained a confidant even after they rescued Pepps.
For the four years she traveled with the Resisty, she always had a low-humming crush on Lard Nar, but was never forward with it.
Everyone was very oblivious, which she prefered.

Once Zelle rose to power, Exhedra went on to join her companions on the Massive and has been assigned to wander the ship and sense for weaknesses, just as she did on the Resisty.
She occasionally stops in and checks on the engineering team, and often has lunch with them.
She is never too far from her crush, but she also doesn't come onto him.
To this day, she remains close to her Resisty pals.

Eventually, after not getting to spend much time with her, and after finally feeling enough ease to relax and not be freaked out at all times, Lard Nar began to realize he really cared about and tended to miss Exhedra.
This turned to longing, and he would go out of his way to find and spend time with her.
In time, he realized she would be an ideal companion, and shyly asked if she would be interested in exploring a relationship.
Exhilerated (without showing it too much), the schaw-nee happily agreed.
Now, vortian and schaw are in a steady, relatively innocent relationship.
Both are shy and have difficulty stirring the pot, but neither of them see this as an issue.
They talk about being intimate, are both virgins and look forward to exploring with one another very soon.
With them being in a relationship, Exhedra spends a little more time with the engineers, and helps with Lard Nar's projects.
They even occasionally share a room at night, just to cuddle and spend time.
She loves how small and cuddly her tiny boyfriend is.
She enjoys holding him while they sleep.

~~Personality~~

Exhedra is sincere, mysterious, loving, calm, gentle, quiet, empathetic, and shy.
People often don't know it, but she's very observant, resourceful, and a fantastic listener.
She has a way of making others think she's spacing out, but she's actually very aware of her surroundings and what others are doing.
With a natural ability to sense others, she doesn't panic easily and is basically impossible to anger.
Her gifts make her a good multitasker, too.
She can focus on one thing while keeping tabs on another, applying her spiritual senses and her physical capabilities at the same time.

When amused, she is prone to giggle fits and soft chuckling; she's never been a bust-out-laughing type, but she enjoys various humor and is difficult to offend.
In fact, despite liking to be covered most of the time, she is less uptight than her tiny partner, and sees beauty in all physical forms.

Exhedra is polite almost to a fault, but it's simply the way of her people.
Once when she was talking with Lard Nar, she wouldn't sit down even after he did, simply because she wasn't invited to.
This causes those around her to have to think a little more when interacting, but ultimately everyone tends to feel at ease in her presence, and very safe.

Exhedra is so generous, she actually gave up her robe to Lard Nar for him to wear as part of his disguise when he went in to rescue Pepps from prison.
In the meantime, she kept herself covered with a bed sheet.
Once Lard returned with a scared and confused Pepps, she shed the sheet and took back her robe after Lard quickly discarded it.
The sheet she had been wearing was what the Resisty used to cover Pepps up when they were fleeing Vort.

Exhedra is very giving, and very empathetic towards others.
She excels in reading emotion and putting herself in others' shoes, which enables her to be more sincere and helpful in the long run.
There is nothing she wouldn't give for the ones she cares about, even if it meant the death of her.
