Description
Fenghuang is from the Nickelodeon series "Legends of Awesomeness."
Kitten and i reject that show, not considering it cannon but do enjoy some characters from it.
This is my take on Fenghuang the owl and it is drastically different from the LoA story, so if you think that will upset you, GO AWAY!

~~Fenghuang~~

Growing up, Fenghuang was always very rough, intimidating and strikingly fierce.
Very loved by both of her parents and she loved them both back, but around others she could not hide her being naturally insecure inside.
In order to keep her fears from being noticed, she would show others that she was not a weakling, often times getting in fights or deeply harming her bullies with her razor sharp beak and talons.
Insecurity actually came from what she was; a bird, small and fluffy with hollow bones.
Too often she was underestimated, and it always made her blood boil inside and created rage toward others.
Her parents, fearing their owlet would become hateful or harm someone fatally, consulted friends for help.
Their suggestion?
Put her in martial arts classes, and try to help her concentrate her abilities.
And, ultimately, learn to control her response toward her peers.

She was taken to several different places, but her unorthodox ways of fighting mixed with her talons destructively shredding every piece of equipment she trained with, kept getting her kicked out of classes.
Her parents became distraught, wondering if this was hopeless.
Fenghuang could feel their anguish, even though they didn't blame her directly.
Afraid of being a disappointment, she started to avoid her peer group all together.

Finally, the older owls caught wind of Oogway.
They made the decision to take her to the Valley of Peace, and humbly request help with their daughter.
Oogway, soft of heart and able to see right away that Fenghuang was a child in need, agreed to try and train her.

It turned out that Fenghuang was actually quite gifted, and showed very fluent ease when starting her training.
She had to learn beside two boys, though; a fox and a red panda her age.
The boys, well...
They didn't exactly get along with her.
Because, like always, Fenghuang was menacing and used fear to breed a strong disliking from them.

The boys aside, though, Oogway helped her to hone her strength and use it gracefully.
He pointed out that with such strong wings, she could learn to harness wind around them and send it back out, pushing foes away or even controlling items around her with it to get an edge on competition, or just to avoid having to hurt someone.
And, to her relief, he admitted there was nothing wrong with having and using talons and her mighty beak, so long as she would not abuse it.
Instead, she learned to utilize them in creative ways -- not just clawing her victims to death.
She even sparred with the boys, able to overpower them from time to time and when she did, she would do it without so much as scratching them, even though she used her feet.

The training, sparring and wisdom also helped ease Fenghuang inside, and she finally began to feel as though she could simply be herself.
Oogway helped her to brush away snide comments and bullying by showing her that violence was not the answer, and that the opinions of people did not matter.
All that mattered was what she thought of herself.
In time, she applied it, and was able to maintain peacefulness around her.

Fenghuang learned this lesson by the end of her first stay at the Jade Palace, which lasted through a Fall and Winter.
After that, she would regularly come back and stay only during Winter, but would practice and hone her techniques at home, staying adamantly devoted toward kung fu.

By the time she was in her 20's, she moved on to join groups and try to assert herself in rising ranks.
She did still occasionally visit though, and enjoyed the company of Oogway.

Several years before KFP 1, Fenghuang managed to assume a position in something called the Master's Council.
Her job was, and remains to this day, evaluation of training places and teachers, ensuring that all is well and regular and that kung fu is being upheld smoothly.
With this, though, she is still a warrior and participates in battles and events, and protecting others wherever it's needed.
By this time, her parents had passed away from natural causes.

Following the events of KFP 3, Fenghuang will make a trip to the Jade Palace to honor Oogway and his memory.
But in doing this, she will also make amends with Shifu, considering they never got along in the past.
It was surprising on both parts, but as it turns out, they had the potential to be friends after all~.

~~Personality~~

Despite learning to control her reactions to others as a child, Fenghuang was and still is, very stone-faced and seemingly without much emotion.
She is very repressed, calm, controlled, and bears an expression that could shake even the formidable Shifu.

But even as cold and dry as she seems, Fenghuang is very intelligent, resourceful, and good at thinking outside the box.
And she does, yes, have feelings and on rare occasion, lets them through and even smiles.
She isn't hateful, just serious and dedicated to keeping herself under a state of control.

Sometimes, though, she can't help but like to spook others by playing mean tricks, and behaving as though she has evil intentions to harm someone or make fronts to display herself as "dangerous."
But it's just dark humor, and many times the reaction from the people she teases brings her quiet and satisfying laughter.

~~Physiology~~

In LoA, Fenghuang is as big as Po, which is quite alarming.
Instead, her head-cannon height from head to toe is close to the same as Shifu and Junjie.
She appears much larger when her wings and tail are open of course, but that is to be expected.

~~Preference~~

Fenghuang is straight, but has zero interest currently in finding a mate.
As it is, she's exceedingly picky and does not find most of the male population of any kind very impressive.

Kitten and i watched KFP 3 so we're getting back into, since we did anyway a couple years ago.
So, REBAMP AND HYPE TIME!
This feels good, UFF i seriously love Kung Fu Panda sooo muuuch
Never stopped loving it, tbh.

For ANYONE out there who actually recognizes/knows Fenghuang, i have no shame in complaining about how she (and everyone for that matter) looked in KFP: LoA.

Hate CGI based Nick shows, i think they're hideous
And...
Come on, FENGHUANG COULD HAVE BEEN SO PRETTY!
I'm also not a huge fan of her voice actress so imma find a new one in my head, too
AND i changed her clothes.
Bc her outfit was pointless.
