Description
When the dragons were banished to the Realms of Ice and Fire, it was up to dragons of the opposing elements to band together and create more livable settings for themselves and everyone else.

In the Realm of Fire, ice and water dragons came together to cool the flames in masses, freezing them out and lowering the temperature in the areas they chose to live.
This brought all dragons species together, creating a neutral environment for everyone.
And because it was hard for anyone else to hunt in such hot, dangerous conditions, fire and magma dragons did most of the hunting for everyone.

In the Realm of Ice, the opposite happened.
Fire and magma dragons made the bitter, deadly cold livable in areas of their choosing, while ice dragons did the hunting.

The communities that were formed over the course of these ten agonizing years made strong bonds, many of which were ultimately separated once Cynder brought the dragons back.
Bringing them back caused as much grief as it did joy; new families and communities were separated, and those who had perished in the Realms had their buried bodies left behind.
It was hard for everyone, but ultimately, they were glad to be home.

As time goes on, families and communities, as well as friends, will find each other across the world more and more, and tell tales of their lives outside of Earth.

Pre-war, there were many apes (including virtually all the females) that did not particularly like the idea of serving Malefor.
So, they opened a portal and went into another realm.
Soon after Cynder was corrupted, she cast a spell that banished most of the dragons on earth between to two realms.
Some went to the Realm of Ice while some others were sent to the Realm of Fire.
Everything else leading up to The Eternal Night is pretty much the same.
Spyro, Cynder and Sparx remain trapped in the crystal at the Mount
