Description
So...this was a little strange a process, which produced a very unique work for me

I would like to specify that the background was provided free by PicsArt.

The image of Fae itself was done totally traditional on white paper, which i was planning to upload as it was.
But i delayed on this...mostly because i wasn't satisfied.
I had put rules in place for myself about what to do with my own work (as usual), and it made me unhappy.
So last night i hit "fuck-it" and just did some digital tweaking, like softening the image and then adding a background i thought would fit her angle.
I was pleasantly shocked at how this turned out!
The only things i did to her person were edit out overlapping lines and tiny messy spots.

I was so dedicated to preserving her soft, natural look, i didn't even bother to do a final outline on her post-bg.
As it often is with trad work, after i added the background, beyond sharping the entire thing a tad, i realized there was nothing more to be done.
I wanted her outlines to remain somewhat washed out, as even if i had chosen a matching shade, it would have removed a sense of authenticity from her appearance, and set her apart from the ocean much too far.

There are no sand details, no foot prints, and because of the overcast in the image, i felt no need to make shadows of any sort.
So this is definitely something i am happy with, and happy i removed my own pointless limitations :heart
Idk if i'll be trying anything like this again, but i definitely love how this almost has a gritty, photographic nuance to it
