Just a little poem there from our favorite dark bird ^^
As you know by now i am a merciless RobRae shipper, but that's only part of why this post is so important.
Even if you don't ship it, you may find the concept interesting, because this is going to center around Raven learning to feel emotions without her powers destroying everything within a 50 mile radius This poor woman...
So yup, it's head canon time!

We all know that Raven has always had to suppress her emotions and meditate daily to keep her immense powers under control.
In fact, she's honestly strong enough she could be an independent superhero and barely struggle, because come on, look at her powers.
She totally holds back in the show during fights, until she gets pissed enough.
Now here's where my head canon pops in so if you aren't interested, you know where the back button is!

~~After Trigon~~

After Trigon's defeat, i like to think that while Raven still has those powers, Trigon is, well...gone.
She is still a half monster (we changed it from demon to monster because i don't do demons [yes it's lame, shuddup]), she's still incredibly powerful.
But with Trigon being erased from existence, basically, with the idea that Raven defeated him and sent him into the light, i wanna say she doesn't have to meditate as adamantly.
Like honestly, maybe once a twice a week will do.
Why?
Because the strength of his hatred no longer consumes her, nor eats away at her mind and soul like some sort of disease.
She's still powerful, she can still be terrifying and her emotions still control most of her powers, but the hatred she used to feel has washed away.
I actually wanna say she was freed from that once she became the portal and reverted into a child during The End, and that's part of why her powers were white for a short while; she was cleansed, and light could enter her.
(PS my boy Vindeleus is Raven's uncle in this, huehuehue lemme know if you don't remember him so i can show you.)

So after the fact and after everything went back to normal, i see it taking Raven a little while to realize that she doesn't have to meditate so much or work as hard to suppress everything.
Basically, she's going to feel a lot lighter and not so bitter, but she'll still push her emotions down because she knows things could go awry.

Way later, Robin and Raven start dating.
Within a month, Robin starts experiencing distressing signs of PTSD from the Slade issues in the past, and Raven and friends start helping him through that.
Once that starts to get better and clear up (as much as they can, they'll just basically be handled better), Robin takes interest in Raven's issues and wonders if he can help her now, since they seem to love to pay each other back for helping so much.
Raven is going to start showing signs of exhaustion herself, and Robin will suggest that maybe it's "time for her to start feeling."
Years of keeping it all trapped inside will be taking its toll, and with Trigon's influence gone her heart's going to start weighing for it.
She'll resist and protest and be reluctant, and for very good reasons all of which Robin understands, but he's not going to give up on it.
I'll say it's about...maybe a week of working on her until she starts to first break and try to express herself in his company.
Because she doesn't know how to balance it yet, her powers will make things fly around or lift up, her energy will crawl all around the room, slam things -- it'll be a little scary, but it still won't stop Robin.
He will literally not care!
Raven will be more worried than him, but again, for good reason.
He'll definitely push her a little, but as usual he will respect her space and privacy, and if/when she shows distress over it, he won't pry.
Needless to say, this will be very appreciated.
I'm also willing to say she will need to have one good explosive cry in which her powers can run rampant somewhere to just release the years of pain and tension, and then after that things will get waaay easier.

Over the course of a few months, as they grow closer and kiss and become gradually more physically interested in one another, she will start to get a handle on the balance.
It won't be perfect, there will still be incidents with her energy, but i honestly see her being startled being what causes more problems than anything else.
In full honesty, as long as she's actually feeling her emotions and allowing them to come out, her powers are always going to escape, but i like to think everyone grows used to her black and blue-violet energy skating around and moving things.
Naturally, it's still going to be a big change though.
This isn't to say Raven's going to turn into some sunshine and rainbows, pink-loving lunatic who likes My Little Pony or some shit, it just means she doesn't have to be MISERABLE.
She can actually enjoy herself more, she can feel deep love and compassion, and honestly i see her empathic healing abilities improving and her ability to sense things growing stronger and more accurate, because those things require feelings.
By the way, did you know that in her empathic healing, this means she can physically feel the pain of another as she heals them?
And doing that, she never once flinches -- girl's got superb pain tolerance!
I mean...she had to have that, so, you know...
It's cool, but it's still sad.

In time, Robin and Raven will become more physical and eventually be ultimately physical, and as they ease into that stage of the relationship i can reaaally see Raven struggling with balance on that front.
As you probably know, the brain goes utterly bonkers during pleasure, and during the "finish" most if not all control of the self is lost.
Sooo...i like to think their first time, Raven's energy blows out all the power at the Titan house, WHICH IS HYSTERICAL
But in time, she learns to harness that, too.
More than anything, i wanna say she learns to make her energy effortlessly circle into itself in pools on the floor or in the air when she's feeling strong emotions, training it to the point where she won't even have to think about it most of the time.
Again, not perfect, but much better.

So there you have it!
With nurturing and patience, Raven learns to feel her emotions.
No longer a slave to her past, she can move forward and really be happy.
I'm a sucker for this crap, sue me XD

By the way i actually took that picture, i think that was a crow (it looked exactly like a little hawk that was flying around, same size and shape, but was jet black and chasing it).
I hope you can even SEE the bird XD
Even though it's a crow, it still felt to me like a good picture and a symbol of freedom
Then i added a piZap filter of clouds to it for color to represent the freedom of emotion.
