Hi! I've been having trouble uploading a fanfic because it says 'That category doesn't allow this type of deviation' when I put it under Fan Art -> Fan Fiction -> Horror. Help would be much appreciated

For a fanfic you go to submit artΒ
then go to add text
Copy and paste your fic from a word doc.
that should do it. for a fan art i'm not sure, hope i helped.

When I get to categories, I did what you said. Then when I picked any of the sub (after FanFiction), it says that it doesnt allow this kind of deviation. What do I do???

Now when you go to submit art, there should be an option that says Enter Text. If you click that, a text box will open, and you can copy/paste your story into there. Then press Ok, and the story should appear.

I upload fanfics. You just have to download them to read them.

That's one way to do it, but I would highly suggest making the story visible on deviantART. Fewer people will read your story if they have to download it.
