Description
Ink and graphite, 4 x 6 postcard sized illustration.Seda Β© Faeorain, 2011
* I figured I needed to start small to try and break this block I've had for awhile now. It's not a creative block, so much as it is a motivational one. I have lots of ideas...just been struggling with the desire to proceed. Hopefully I will regain momentum soon to continue with my Zodiac series.

Interesting. Β The hair looks kind of serpentine.

This reminds me of Pan's Labyrinth It's kind of creepy but pretty at the same time.

Thank you. I have some weird obsession with braids and twisted hair...I don't know why

Yeah, I haven't been working on any different hair stlyes for a while now. I seem to only draw the classic straight hair that you would see in most mangas. I plan on doing a lot more practice drawings in the summer mostly because of all of the free time I'll have.

I like how you combined the two media. Do you do it in a particular order/ ink-->graphite or graphite--->ink, or do you do it all together/back and forth?

Thank you I usually go back and forth with the two. I'll start out with a rough draft with a mechanical pencil, and then start using the ink and graphite progressively. Often, I'll add additional elements to the image before certain areas are inked, so I make sure to never ink the entire image first, as sometimes other ideas come to mind later on.
