I fully expected to hop on the Sonic wagon after the TF2 one on the hyperfixation train, so this is a bit of a weird one that just kinda jammed itself there, out of nowhere. For context, I recently binged the first season of the Rise cartoon (but not the second season 'cause Netflix hates me) and the Rise movie because I'm a sucker for the style (and comedy and action). Up to that point, outside of getting TMNT trivias out of the OG fans and my bro, I only watched episodes of the 2003 cartoon back when I was a kid. In that stretch of time, I never really gave any interest to that franchise and pretty much sneered at the 2012 version for petty reasons... much like how people badly responded to the 2018/Rise designs. Let's be real, anytime a franchise "renews itself" every few years, it's a shallow cycle driving fans of one version against the next. The hardcore fans can complain all they want on the latest cartoon but it at least got me interested in checking out the previous versions despite how different they are, ain't that neat!
And I'm more hyped to see Mutant Mayhem than I would've been otherwise just for the sake of my twin (.... and animation goodness, because that movie looks very dope).
Though I doubt that'll make me watch the Michael Bay movies, fuck that noise.
