Reminds me a bit of this series I'm reading by Patricia Briggs. It's about Mercedes Thompson , a mechanic. Oh, and she's an almost extinct race of shapeshifter. It's pretty cool.

Cool pic! It's the perfect example of a quick shot in the middle of a story. Just by looking at it, you know there have been events before this scene, and there will be events after. I am really curious as to the function of the menacing black thing suspended from the ceiling!

I really like it. I mean, with digital art, you get a lot of 'shiny' stuff, but this has very subtle highlights. Not that either is bad, but it's refreshing.
And I love the way the folds in the fabric are done. Good job.

Having not seen the orrigonal darker version, I cant say how good the improvement is, but I like it a lot.
And i cant honestly comment on the color since I a little colorblind. But it is colored very well!

I think you had problems from uneven lighting...try adding that aspect as a layer.

I'm not amazing at coloring, but I think you did great. It has a very comic bookish feel. The shadows could be a little darker (as there appears to be one lightsource). Never the less, it is good.

Hah, that's very good to hear! I'm not crazy about most anthro stuff myself. But I still think a lot of people dismiss anthro art too readily. The same goes with lots of styles. But to say that anime or "furry" or superhero or whatever style of art is bad just because it has big eyes, animal ears, or a cape is just an ignorant generalization.. ESPECIALLY in an artistic community. I hope to see more open minds like yours.
