Titled for the song "Pyschobabble" by Frou Frou.This is a bit bigger than my scanner would allow.
It's also a square.
I dated this in December 2004. But it shouldn't seem that old. o_O
That would make Sophomore year...Drawing and Painting...1..yes D & P 1.
Morfis and his crazy ideas.
Hand drawn for shapes and hand inked for the designs. My eyes were shaking when I was on the last legs of this.
Supposed to be a study on gradation, but it's a bit stuck in the grey medium instead of going to either end of the grey scale as well.
But it's no mean trick to do that.
There weren't supposed to be words in here, but my handwriting is pissass small, so I was able to write out an entire song and make that into a design.
Don't ask me where it is, I don't remember.
I'd have to really take it and look at it to find it.The song was "To the Moon & Back" by Savage Garden.
Anyway.

Start with a blank piece of paper, and draw morphous and amorphous shapes, and interlap them, that way you get other shapes. Use an ink pen and start filling in the shapes, usually with stippling or crosshatch or any other sort of pattern. It's a greyscale gradation study, so it should flow from almost white to almost black.
Which is no mean trick, and why I got points off for it.

I was a pain in the ass for him; I'd never follow his directions EXACTLY, I'd deviate down in another direction. But, he didn't mind giving the B, and I didn't mind taking it.

haha i'm the same. don't really follow most of his directions but at the end he likes my work so he still gives me an A.....and maybe me sucking up to him helped to get that A as well. lol
