When he was 15 he was traveling with his motherand father to another area which was safer than where they were in the mountains. 'Down to the river.' his father said. One morning, they awoke to roaring and claws.
Bryce blacked out after he was attacked by the creature. He awoke to his battered and bloodied father standing over a dead puma.
He and his mother survived but his father died a few days later due to his injuries.
