Description You might notice the finished pie is slightly different from the one in the listed steps. I used a previously made pie but I promise the techniques involved are the same! Sorry but I needed that tin back.

Lint can be a beast to get rid of completely X( I still fight with it constantly and almost had to ruin a miniature peach because I got a piece of it in the middle

What I find helps is washing your hands and then drying off with paper towels, wearing light colored clothing can also keep them at bay...I sculpt on a ceramic tile that I scrub off really well

I hope this is some help ^_^ (but I totally understand your frustration!)

*I GLOMP YOU NOW!!!* Your artwork is epic, i've always loved how you know how small dolls had foods to 'eat' and how they had so much detail. But your work is the greatist. Do you sell any of them? owo

An excellent tutorial! I have been marvelling at miniature foods for ages now and have never understood how they're made (I use sculpey and apoxie sculpt in my own art and have never even touched polymer clay, so I had no idea what it was capable of).

I am going to have to try this out! Thank you!

does the clay stick in your fingers?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

fairchildart In reply to Zou-Zou [2011-03-14 13:01:11 +0000 UTC]

Sometimes the clay sticks to my fingers especially if it's hot outside and I don't have the AC cranked up - having a firmer clay like FIMO definitely helps, and a little bit of corn starch can fend off the stickiness

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Zou-Zou In reply to fairchildart [2011-03-14 22:42:06 +0000 UTC]

all right!
FIMO clay doesnΒ΄t exist in my country, but as i was working with a kind of polymer clay of not good quality.
however, iΒ΄ll manage to do something good of it.

thanks you very much for the help!

I just can't get over how amazingly detailed your sculptures are. Not only do they look completely edible and make my mouth water, but they're so adorably teeny tiny!! You make it look so easy >_< I think it'd be easier to make a REAL apple pie from scratch than to do what you do! Major thumbs up, plus favorite, and definately +watch. I love your stuff. Makes me want to get a doll house JUST so I can fill it with your creations.
