For the past two days I've been trying to come up with an idea about how the site's layout update should be.
Suggestions regarding the Core members' benefits:
Core members should have the ability to customize their background image or colors.
The number of Custom boxes should be 20 instead of 10 for Core Members.
Access to all of the widgets that already existed in this site.
Core members being able to change their username every 3 months.
Suggestions regarding the NON-Core members' benefits:
Non-Core members should have the ability to change the colors of their backgrounds.
Non-Core memebers should be given the right to have at least 1 custom box compared to now that they have non.
Non-Core members should have access to the polls widget.
Non-Core members should have access to the critique feature.
Non-Core members being able to change their username every 6 months.
In addition, the following features would also be included in this version:
Light Mode
Likes button in comments

What if this concept of Eclipse had actually the option for users to customize and change the colors of your profile?

(These colors can also be used in combination like for instance a Red Header and black profile colors with a yellow Font)

As far as the Notifications system, it's perfect the way it is now (classic version). It's comfortable and user-friendly. The only change it would have should be the colors to match the new ones.
If you agree with this version of DeviantART Eclipse, please share it in any possible way so that our voices can be heard and for DeviantART to continue being the unique site we all know and love.
I also urge you to use the blank version and add your own information from your own profile and share it with the rest of the members.

Omg, I hated eclipse and thought about leaving deviantart because eclipse was a bit laggy for me when I tried it out.
If eclipse was continued and will be forever implemented I really do hope they consider your version because it looks a lot more neater.

My only gripe would be for non core members to have that DA character on their profile. I feel it would take away from people's art and individuality.

Thank you very much! Let me explain my choice of using this character in my version.
First of all, I put Fella up there to show the transparency that the profile menu has because it wasn't very clear before. Aside from that, he is the DeviantArt mascot after all and he's been greatly neglected in the past few years, unfortunately. I do not personally see how him being on top would actually take away people's art and individuality since my version offers the exact HTML code that the original site used to have as well as one custom box for non-core members compared to before in which case they had none. Aside from that, in my version, non-core members would have the option to customize their profiles and they would have access to the color pallet. It's only fair for people who pay their subscriptions to be getting access to more features like the background image change.

I see. That's understandable. I gather the mascot was quite popular back in the day.
To explain my point,
Uh.. picture it like this, you have your profile with all your art and then there's this big character popping up, taking quite some space. More than the menu bar and a lot of the computer screen.
VS. the clean look we have on our profiles today. The DA logo is always there, but it's small and fits in with everything else on the menu. Anything art wise you see on the page is of the user. Which puts more focus on people's art. If the character was that big in the past, I think DA removed it from being so prominent for a reason or two.
I wouldn't mind the mascot somewhere.. but would prefer it to be much smaller. Like an icon next to the logo or something.
But that's my personal opinion.

Like I said before, the purpose of the mascot was mostly to show that the menu has transparency in it. Fella wasn't originally there specifically, so I put him up there for that reason and only. He was basically the place-holder. Anything could go on the banner for the non-core users. I did not like the idea of that space over the menu to be completely blank whether there is color or not.
Are you aware of DeviantArt Eclipse? They completely removed any form of customization and replaced it with only 1% of what it originally was. They have a huge banner which takes 80% of the screen unless you scroll down. I've been on DA for almost a decade and they had never taken people's uniqueness and individuality before. My version is pretty much the classic DA lay-out, with new colors and a much smaller banner than what it originally was.
