thank you so much!! it's a good belief that cats (and by extension, people) are not "unwhole" and "dragged down" by their disabilities! briarlight learned
to live with her disability, managed her health and lived happily with her family and friends in the clan, and i think she grew beyond the thoughts that
her broken spine was hindering her. plus, in starclan, she doesn't have to worry about exhaustion or fatigue and can pretty much run as fast or as hard
as she wants with two legs! i think her retaining her disability in starclan is a symbol of her inner peace, too

starclan's rules are up for interpretation, of course, but no one is "broken" because they are disabled!

Aw, that's a lovely comment! Your idea that Briarlight doesn't mind keeping her disability is interesting, a new and valid POV. You're right that she learned to accept her condition, and she adapted well. Her mother was far more worried about her than Briarlight was about herself.

Go ahead and tell me how she died, it'll be a long while until I catch up with the series, so I don't mind spoilers!

i feel really awful about her dying, as i don't think it was at all necessary for the book except for making me cry haha! basically, 
sickness dropped in on thunderclan and a lot of cats got sick - it almost seemed like the book was setting up for a lot of characters
to die, and i personally think a lot of the older background characters need to go to give the newer ones room to shine- but briarlight
contracted the illness around when everyone else had gotten over it. alderheart and jayfeather were short on herbs and they did all
they could but briarlight wasn't able to fully recover, and when she knew she was dying she had a whole heart-to-heart with her family
and jayfeather actually expressed emotion and the whole scene was moving but i really wish they hadn't killed her character off like that!
she deserves better! but i hope we get to see her in starclan a couple times, at least, because she's a lovely character

no one else died to the illness, somehow,
