EDIT 6/12/14: Added Braeburn and his family, as is my headcanon. Here we bring back a few familiar faces. It started with the concept where we saw Braeburn and Half-Baked Apple sharing a cart on the way to the reunion (Also they live in the same house in the new expansion in the Gameloft game, EVIDENCE! ) Then I realized that Carmella shared a few of Granny Smith's features and I knew both that Bramley couldn't have been Granny's only foal and Braeburn had to have been related to Applejack via her dad. Grandpa Gravenstein is still under development.

EDIT 4/28/13: Added Babs Seed and her family, at least according to my version. Her father, Cinder Block, is the source of that Big City Attitude she develops in time. He's probably got a pretty mundane construction worker job, but he's darn well good at it. His cutie mark is two cinder blocks.

Ruby Red is sister to Lemon Floret and Valencia Orange - see what I did there? There's one more sibling I have yet to create and reveal. Like Lemon Floret, she took interest in a beau outside of her high society. Unlike Floret, though, she preferred to stay in Manehatten to start her family. And a family she got - two daughters, Sand Cherry and Babs Seed. Her cutie mark is a Ruby Red Grapefruit slice.

Sand Cherry is Babs Seed's aforementioned older sister, and she's quite fond of her little sister. She maintains the Manehatten accent (though I imagine her voice sounds more like that of Harley Quinn. XD Just not as shriek-y.) Her talent is artisan crafts and creating jewelry, particularly pins for use on pendants or mane clips. She prides herself on creating her own beads. Her cutie mark is a cherry mane-pin.

(I also switched Bramley and Floret's eye colors. Made more sense this way.)

Cause I wanted to add some logic to it and fill in those gaps.

First, Granny Smith. Well, it's been established that she STARTED the whole apple thing and had involvement in the foundation of Ponyville, so she couldn't have married into the business. She's going to stick around there as long as she can.

And here are the parents we've never seen, at least how they're perceived in my imagination - Bramley Apple and Lemon Floret. A Bramley is a variety of apple, and the name just sounded perfect for a sturdy, hardworking workhorse that he surely was. I imagine he must've died somewhee in the time that his wife was pregnant with Applebloom. I say this because I reckon that before he did, he left his horsecollar to Big Macintosh and his hat to Applejack. But I don't know, maybe he died after Applebloom was born and left her something that she has yet to grow into.

Then there's the mother, Lemon Floret. I decided to make her the sister of Aunt Orange since the yellow would explain her daughters' blonde mane and coat, and having association with lemons would link her to the Oranges. I'm sure their parents were named Key Lime and Citrus or something. XD She put aside her life of high culture when she fell in love with Bramley, and would've had an air of a southern belle about her. And she probably was a pretty awesome baker and made the meanest lemon bars around. But hey, Applejack had to have gotten her baking skills from somewhere. Also, "Floret" seemed like a good way to introduce the flower factor into the family name. Hence why her youngest was named "AppleBLOOM".

I'm honestly VERY proud of the names I came up for for the Oranges. Valencia is named for a popular variety of the orange, and Julius is named for a drink called an Orange Julius. Both names sound pretty high-society to me.

And yes, I decided to make Honey the daughter of the Oranges. She already looks like she could be their offspring, and I had already established her as Applejack's little cousin. So she was raised high-class and can handle wearing a dress a bit more than AJ can, but her heart really is in the orchard, and she loves visiting her cousins each year.

Still trying to figure out where the rest of the Apples come into this (Apple Fritter, Apple Bumpkin, Carmel Apple, etc.). Might do that next, I'm sure Bramley wasn't an only foal.

So yeah......the Apples seem like a very broken and oddly compiled family, but you know they're close. And hopefully their situation makes more sense now, right?
