Just one of the adopts from the collab I'm working on with =BeesHoneypot I swear she's one of the best people to collab with ;u;I'll post another WIP of the whole set when I'm closer to being done.

why does everybody use SAI? not saying i have a problem i just see it more than gimp or other programs in general

I'm not sure, actually. That's a good question.
I think part of the reason why SAI remains popular is because it's one of the few programs that are free (rather than expensive programs like Photoshop and Corelpaint ), and although Gimp is free, it's more used for image editing (like photoshop) than actual drawing/painting, whereas SAI is mainly a drawing/painting tool (as in, there is hardly any image editing functions in it). So for those who don't really use photoshop to edit, SAI really cuts out a lot of the unnecessary functions and just gives you the most basic drawing tools.
I've also noticed that a program called FireAlpaca is beginning to get pretty popular with artists as well.
