Greetings.

Squared BW is a photographic theme i'm greatly interested into, so I decided I'd post a critique on this particular image.

My opinion is that this image could greatly improve in several of it's aspects. First of taking in mind the rule of thirds, the composition hardly manages to deliver the impact that might be intended. The objects of interest (cyclists head and rail) are not well placed in the horizontal and vertical thirds as I think they could since this is a crop apparently. The large depth of field chosen for this image...also creates a distraction, with the object behind the cyclist which takes out some of energy.

I do see your nice digital darkroom techniques however in this image. You managed to achieve a good black/white ratio, proper contrast and a slight tint which I enjoy. I also like the added scratches on the picture, small details that can show some sense of classic beauty inside.

Thats about it e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/s… " width="15" height="15" alt="" title=" (Smile) - "/> Take care, I really like you work and I have been following you for several months now e.deviantart.net/emoticons/w/w… " width="15" height="15" alt="" title=" (Wink) - "/>

I love the crop first of all!

The composition and geometry, along with the placement of the subject and its shadow are awesome!

Good job. Definitely art, and not a random shot.

Any rules are only there to allow a starting point to creativity and I think :devjesusphotography: totally misses that point. I think the photo works very well indeed, with the rail physically isolating the viewer from the memory of childhood freedom. The shadow is also an important aspect of the image, heightening the sense of time and drawing us into the photo. It's also a nice contrasting line to the metal rail. If I had any negative comment it would simply be that I don't quite understand what is happening with the head of the child: is he/she wearing a mask?...Wait, I'm just showing my age - it's a helmet with a visor. My memories are strong enough as to inhibit my interpretation of the photo. The brain is a marvelous thing.

kadrajda bisikletin arkasındaki boşlukta bi figür olabilseydi keşke dedim,
ama tonlama ve kompozisyon şahane olmuş

I like it I'm not so sure about this rule of thirds business in the critique. It seems to me that the fence in the foreground is an important part of the story here, and if you were to crop it so that everything lines up nicely in thirds you would lose important information about the environment here.
