Description
Made for my father, a fan of the "Tintin" series by Hergé since his childhood. If you don't know who are Tintin and Captain Haddock, wikipedia is for you ^^ : [link]
But maybe you know that Steven Spielberg and Peter Jackson are doing movies (at least one movie) about their adventures. ^_-

I love the two-tone simplicity of this.
Haddock rocks.
Pff...
"Harrock"

Casteroli ? In French, Haddock misnames La Castafiore by "Castafiole" ("fiole" means "phial", but also "head" in a figurative and colloquial sense ; and "se payer la fiole de quelqu'un" means "to fool somebody" ^^+).
Thanks for the comment. I'm glad you like what I did.

That's really fascinating. I love languages. I'm slowly slowly slowly learning Latin, haha.
Eh, in all of the English ones, they just butcher each other's names in many different ways... Haddock just does it on purpose, haha.

I loved learning latin when I was in "collège" (secondary school in UK, junior high school in US, for the 11 to 14 years old), and later in the university.
Of course, I think it's maybe more easier when your mother language is of "Romance" origin (like the French for me). But I hope you will persevere ! ^^ Because it's really fascinating ! And as you know Tintin, maybe you know Astérix too ? Reading Astérix in Latin (with still a good help from the dictionary of course ) is very funny ! ^^ [link]

English is... not... idealistic for this sort of learning... environment. xD
Actually, I've only heard of Astérix... what is it?

Astérix is a comic universe around Gauls and Romans, during the Conquest of Gaul by Caesar. Astérix is a little Gaul who lives in a little village, the only one which is still resisting against Roman army, thanks to a magical potion, which gives a phenomenal strength to the villagers. And it's very funny. ^^ Something children and adults both can like.
Besides, Astérix is also a good caricature of contemporary French people : scrappers, loudmouth, suspicious, but also generous, food lovers, cheerful... Of course, because it is a caricature, it's not true for all the French, but it's still a good idea !

Oh my goodness! That sounds pretty good, actually. I was wondering if there was ever a comic about Romans. I will most definitely look into it now...!
Haha wow... I understand. I understand that stereotypes always have exceptions. Thank you, by the way. c:

What a wonderful drawing of Captain Haddock. I read the Tintin comics as a teen, and Captain Haddock was always my favorite character.

Thank you very much ! ^^
I'm very happy to see that Tintin is very well-known around the world (lesser in the US, I think, but the movie by Spielberg and Jackson will maybe create a wholly new situation ^^ I hope it will be good).

Merci ! ^^
C'était lui ou le docteur Mortimer, les deux personnages de BD préférés de mon père. Mais cela n'aurait pas changé grand chose en fait : ils portent tous les deux la barbe et la pipe ! ^^+
