I gotta say, you've done a pretty job, this is a cheerful character at first glance
On anatomy, I think you're going im the right direction, perhaps just the two red circles are looking kind of off. Hands are always complicate to understand with so many joints and pressure points to use, but try to make'em real simple and into basic shapes. Also, keep a close look at the angle at which you're working, you've placed the hands in the right position, tho not the right angle of view, your character is at 3/4 view, so should the rest of his body, unless of course you want it to look broken. That's for the hand near to his face, and although the one on the hips also has an uncomfortable looking posing, it is correctly placed. I just swithced from palm to back, et voilá. Look for the most simplest way to place everything, don't stress yourself or the character ;D
Over the rest of the boy, there's only minor details I'd like yo suggest like:
- The end of the ribcage is the narrowest place on the torso, use that to highlight the posture of your character
- Shoulders go inside the torso, so draw the silhouette for the back and place the shoulder in
- Try to make legs of the same lenght, I think you were trying to use foreshortening here, but the simplest way is the best

On the shadows and lights, I like the way you started this, simple and focused.
On this part, the trick is to keep the light source always in mind.. As you can see, only the tail was a teensy bit underlighted
Also, don't be afraid and use more than 2 colors on shadows, that makes them richer to the eye and builds up the illusion of reflectiveness in between materials, besides, of course, adding volume and perspective to your drawing

Thank you so much for taking your time to show me how to fix the mistakes in the artwork so I can improve^^
I thought something was off with the hands, but I couldn't find out why because I thought the hand pose alone looked fine. Seems like I need to sturdy how hands and arms actually twists and bends with the rest of the body (angles). Not just thinking of the hand as a individual drawing as I did here.
Now that you point it out, I should have had more light on the tail as well, and the jacket sleeve should have left some shading on the right arm. I have learned a lot already just by looking at how you shaded it in the bottom right corner. And it does look a lot more 3D and "alive" when you added more color to the shading like that, I will definitely experiment more with colored shading in the future now^^
The feet looks much better when they have look more like human feet. I should practice actual realistic feet more.
As for the feet, I was trying to use foreshortening, looks like I overdid it.
This is a lot of great improvement tips! This is going to help me a lot, thank you again!
Just one thing, Kayla is a girl. I probably should have tried to draw her body more feminine. I just find it hard to do without overdoing it. This still showed me a lot of how to make a lot of the anatomy like the legs look better though!

Hello and you're very welcome
Thank you for trusting the group with your doubts

I think that's the very core of the problem. I also had this issue, you look at the hands, like zooming in, and it looks fine, but when you zoom out... ugh! I solved it by doing the general outline of the hand posing (using squares and circles) over the zoomed out view and then zooming in to the details of the hand only (fingers, wrinkles).

I'm really happy this has helped you. I've learned everything I do by watching others draw and color and paint, so I'm very glad it is of help to someone else. As said, use many colors to make shados and lights, that's the core of making a drawing look alive, basically because it mimics the reflective nature of environment over the fabric/skin/object.

Whoops... I'm so sorry about it, I didn't realize she was a girl. Maybe I can find time to correct that
In the meantime, hope you have a wonderful day and of course, keep improving
